Around the parliamentary election, Nepal is echoed with a slogan of economic boom. This slogan of economic boom is much hipped, a marathon competition centered on those who can be sought louder that would have better chance to garner votes and could better hunt for future through parliamentary business. The election is said to be a last breath to the constitution, whether or not would it be valid would be depending on whether or not could the election be successful. This attractive slogan the ‘Economic Boom’ has been an effective tool to fuse the fury of people who are desperately crying. Seizing this sentiment, the parliamentary parties have declared that this kind of boom is possible only at the condition if the government is formed under the leadership of their own party and not of the other. Thus the voices are always louder than other giving this boom theory by the parliamentarian parties to the level of boomism. In this context, it has been very urgent and important to address this question what is boomism and how this had common relation with economism, parliamentarianism and bourgeoisie democracy.
Any leaders of the Nepali congress while come out to the public programme and stand up at the podium to address the masses, the first and the foremost agenda he or she offers is an economic boom. These leaders claim, it had been under its leadership in the past and will be in future if this party is elected with the majority and got the opportunity to form the government. The same thing has been the notion of UML. Let’s come to the Maoists, better to say ex-Maoist, and presently a neo-revisionist and even now they have already crossed the borders of “neo” and have become full-fledged revisionist, they have been claiming that the era of coming power by the MC-UML coalition into power will bring the economic boom for the Nepalese people. Baburam Bhattarai, one of the peculiar self-centrist, opportunist, hopeless revisionist and boomist do not leave any leaf unturned while he comes to the opportunity to speak out to the media or friends or people that never had any development taken place or any plan put forward for the boom as had been done during his office first time as finance minister and next time as prime minister.
This slogan ‘boomism’ has been an attractive carrot and stick to lure people for the parliamentary business as a peculiar economism, parliamentrism and bourgeoisie democracy today in Nepal in such a socio-economic condition where people are desperately waiting for economic boom or at least economic development for they are severely destitute from job, health care, education, social security, women’s participation in social services, infantile and maternal mortality and desertion of youth from the country. The boomist Baburam and Prachanda, and another boomist Oli and Deuba try to pose themselves as different, people may see them identical from each other. But what are the common among these boomists? What is common between parliamentrism and boomism? These are the questions needed to discuss here as the prelude to promote debate in the political realm of Nepal.
Despite they try to show identical by name per say, one as Congress a social democrat and another as the socialist communist on form, they are the same feeds on the tray in essence and all chickens come to the parliamentary roost while time comes, they obey and exercise bourgeoisies dictatorship against people. This is the first common on them. Guided by this parliamentary principle, all these boomist advocates and practice bourgeoisie modes of production relation that gives rise to class division. This is the second point. As all these parliamentary parties commonly inter together into the bourgeoisie social relation and they practice and fit in comfortably. This is the third common point. Since they are comfortably fit in the bourgeoisie social relation that is creating social disparity they have a common culture, the corrupt, exploitative, suppressive and dick-licking character to imperialism and monopoly capitalism. This is the fourth common point among them. They will be completely servitude to the imperialist and exploitative forces. This is the fifth common point among them.
Parliamentarianism always downplay the economic base and superstructure, the ideology and politics and focuses the attention of the workers narrowly on their relationship with their own employee and not the maker of the history and wealth for people, and this relation with their bourgeoisie and their own state and turning the oppressed masses of people against the ideology, politics and base and superstructure. This is the same thing with the boomist who do not care about the relationship between economic base and political superstructure, who do not care about the abolition of the chain and fetters of the workers and with a very narrow bourgeoisie interest, they try to bring the workers against their liberation and freedom and turn these workers to praise those chain and fetters as their ornaments. This is what common tendency between Nepalese parliamentary boomism and economism. What is done with this boomist rhetoric or even acts in the form of state terrorism against the masses of people, having taken this boomism on a revolutionary appearance, still at the essence and at bottom, it is the intention and campaign of narrowing the oppressed people’s sights and turning them, not only away from revolution in general but against the rest of the international proletariat. This is common among the parliamentary boomism and economism.
The left-wing boomist, the so called Maoist center and UML and company have raised three flags that are stability, prosperity and socialism, they claim that these goals will be fulfilled once the alliance for election and party unity get successful. Will those slogans be fulfilled in this parliamentary system? Of course not! As long as the nation does not get independence, as long as the comprador capitalist economic base and parliamentary superstructure is abolished, as long as national capitalism is protected by the state, these slogans will never get materialized. What will certainly be materialized will be the economic boom for the handful compradors, the Nepalese flunkeys of imperialist monopolists and handful capitalist forces. In this context, their banners of economic boom, social stability and political transformation to socialism will turn to tatter to wrap their corpses. Do the boomists care of what will be the future turnabout? For them opportunism is the principal factor, the ethics of the politics and profit is the prime factor no matter what condition is for the people and nation. This is the parliamentary way and bourgeoisie democratic method and approach to lure people on broad economic and social slogan and fulfil the narrow bourgeoisie interest under that slogan.
Boomism is severe opportunism that treats the politics as give and take business, as do the parliamentary leaders say that a name of the communist party simply names, or it is simply a trademark which does not have any relation with nature and character with communist. For them, name of the communist party is a business to tackle the issues of loss and profit, give and take, earn and expanse and deposit and withdraw and this business can be sold out to the public sentiment and buy out vote in the bourgeoisie election and reach out to the post in legislature from where they can do everything to make economic boom for themselves and to their petty clique of businessmen.
Relation between Boomism and Economism
Five main points to take into account
This neo-colonial parliamentary system of Nepal is a part of capitalist post-imperialist world system. This system is horrendous. This is fostering nurturing neo-colonial comprador political power in Nepal and all oppressed nations in the world. This system leads the people nowhere but horrible destination, the destruction of people's right, sovereignty and democracy.
This comprador capitalist parliamentary system has to be overthrown with a replacement of another system, a system which is incomparably superior to the present one, where there will be complete abolition of any kind of exploitation over human being by human. This is Scientific Socialism.
Overthrowing of this system is possible. This epoch making act demands ideologically, politically, organisationally a disciplined and a sound party of the communist. This kind of party that is equipped with historical dialectical materialism, scientific socialism and socialist economic system which in sum is Marxism-Leninism-Maoism can lead such revolution.
This party to lead revolution in Nepal and advance to scientific socialism is Communist Party of Nepal (CPN), and its leadership, the cadres and the proletarian internationalist people whose glorious struggle in this country has made several leaps, breakthroughs and also passed through many catastrophes have taken up this historical responsibility. This party has a revolutionary line, strategy and tactic to lead communist revolution.
This line, the strategy and tactic for the scientific socialist revolution to accomplish in Nepal is the strategy of Unified People's Revolution.
